The new production building will complement the existing MAREX Boats infrastructure in Ilgakiemis, Kaunas district. The project is being implemented by BE Constructive, a construction management company that is part of the BE LIVE Group, providing contractor selection and project management (PCM) services.

"Until now, we have not had the capacity in Lithuania to manufacture three-deck ships that are almost 17 meters long - this requires not only larger spaces, but also infrastructure specially adapted for the manufacture of recreational vessels, such as a basin for testing the buoyancy of ship hulls and a demonstration area for customers, where we will be able to present various boat models, as well as Compact Twin vertical automatic warehouses to ensure uninterrupted production. The building will be heated and cooled by a geothermal system, and we will compensate for the increased energy demand by expanding our solar panel park. That is why we decided to build a smart factory, and we chose our reliable partners BE LIVE to implement it," says Saulius Pajarskas, CEO of MAREX Boats.

Construction work on the 2,8 hectare site will commence immediately after building permit is obtained. Construction managers, who are involved in the process at an early stage, assist the client in selecting a contractor even before the permit is obtained. The tender process runs parallel to the design process, thus significantly shortening the overall project timeline for the client. The insights gained during the tender process were used to improve design solutions, thus optimizing the budget and shortening the implementation time of technological processes.

By applying the PCM methodology, the work will be executed more efficiently and smoothly. Upon completion of this phase, the total area of the MAREX Boats production complex in Ilgakiemis will expand to 28 000 sq.m.
